THE POSITION:
STACK is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to develop the Delivery Project Management Office (PMO) Controls objective.  The Project Controls Manager provides leadership and oversight of Project-level controls, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely management of cost, schedule, and performance data across construction Projects. This role partners with Preconstruction, Construction leadership, project teams and Construction Finance to establish, maintain, and govern Project controls that support informed decision-making and successful project execution. Key responsibilities include developing and managing Project budgets, schedules, and forecasting processes, establishing cost and schedule control standards, and overseeing Project-level reporting, variance analysis, and performance metrics.

The role also includes oversight of schedule management, change management, risk and contingency tracking, and EML reporting, as well as administration and continuous improvement of Project controls systems and processes. The Project Controls Manager plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity, identifying trends and risks, and ensuring that Project execution adheres to established controls, governance requirements, and reporting standards.  This role will support STACK’s full construction portfolio encompassing multiple product and delivery types.  This role will continually assess project and portfolio delivery performance to define, implement, adopt, and audit controls (cost, schedule, & quality) and reporting that enable extreme visibility into project performance while enhancing certainty in delivery outcome. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead, develop, train, and manage a project controls team of cost managers and schedulers (both internally and through partnership with our external service providers).
  • Create and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating project delivery status and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and analysis, identifying critical path activities, potential delays, cost impacts, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and decision-making across the portfolio, ensuring Project alignment with client objectives and its adherence to STACK’s operational and strategic goals.
  • The successful candidate should be comfortable and able to provide executive-level reports to internal and external stakeholders that include performance updates, risk identification and mitigation, and recovery plans while also contributing as the individual contributor role when needed to support individual projects.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Construction Finance and Development teams to give feedback and deliver necessary project data to support visibility, forecasting, and baselining.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators, dashboards, and deep dive analyses that enable concise articulation of project and portfolio performance and decision making.
  • Implement strategies and policies that maintain firm grasp and real-time awareness of project and portfolio risks and exposures.
  • Increase adoption and consistent use throughout the Delivery portfolio of Project Controls tools through documentation, training, and follow-through support.
THE DETAILS:
  • Location: Shreveport, LA (will consider other gulf states with additional regular travel to site)
  • Domestic travel required; 25%
  • Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Leave Programs
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
