Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager in Central Minnesota to support the management of heavy civil and underground utility projects, including water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and wastewater pipeline installations. 

Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil (Water & Utilities)

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers in overseeing utility, earthwork, and infrastructure projects from start-up through completion.

• Support in the development of project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.

• Prepare and maintain submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and project documentation.

• Work closely with superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure quality, safety, and productivity.

• Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and vendor communications.

• Track and process change orders, pay applications, and project billing.

• Provide technical support for layout, drawings, and as-builts (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software).

• Participate in project meetings with clients, engineers, inspectors, and municipal representatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 2–4 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with exposure to water, sewer, storm, or utility projects strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and municipal utility standards.

• Proficiency in construction management tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
