Join a well-respected civil engineering firm that plays a vital role in building and improving municipal infrastructure across Montana. This Project Engineer / Project Manager position in Helena, MT offers the rare opportunity to work directly with firm leadership in a small, highly collaborative environment where you’ll manage projects from planning through construction. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Project Engineer / Project Manager position include:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) license – PE in Montana preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months.
4–8 years of experience in municipal or civil infrastructure projects – Lead water, wastewater, stormwater, roadway, and site development projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D – Perform detailed site design including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
Strong project management experience – Oversee projects from planning and design through construction and post-construction phases.
Construction documentation and estimating expertise – Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
Construction administration skills – Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, contracts, and project documentation.
Field and client coordination abilities – Conduct site visits, meet with municipal clients, and attend council or stakeholder meetings.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills – Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.

Salary: $70,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
