Overview
Job Description
- Support field construction activities, with a focus on mechanical installation and execution
- Coordinate daily work activities between home base engineering, on-site engineering, and construction teams
- Interface with mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure proper system integration
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation
- Ensure field installations comply with projects standards, codes, and safety requirements
- Provide technical support to construction teams and resolve field issues
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and work front coordination
- Identify and help resolve technical issues, constructability concerns, and field conflicts
- Interface with QA/QC and support inspection and documentation efforts
- Track field changes, RFIs, and as-built documentation
- Monitor progress and report status to project leadership
- Promote and enforce site safety policies and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience in field engineering, industrial construction, or power generation
- Experience in power generation, energy, or industrial projects
- Experience in combined cycle power plants is highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&ID's
- Isometric Drawings
- General Arrangement Drawings
- Working knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems (e.g., piping, rotating equipment, HVAC, or similar)
- Basic civil/structural interfaces (foundations, supports, steel)
- Electrical systems (cable routing, equipment interfaces)
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Experience with EPC projects in power, chemical, or heavy industrial environments
- Chemical plants
- Refining/petrochemical facilities
- Heavy industrial or manufacturing installation
- Exposure to commissioning and startup activities
- Experience working with contractors and vendors in the field
- Familiarity with multi-discipline project environments
