Job Description

About LEMOINE

LEMOINE is a trusted leader in construction and disaster recovery services. We're building out our Program Services Group and are looking for a Project Engineer who wants hands-on experience across project management, field supervision, and estimating, especially in the data center/mission-critical space. This position offers a unique entry point into growing career paths in PM, Estimating, and Superintendent roles.

Industry Context

The mission-critical and data center construction industry is experiencing explosive growth-driven by hyperscale AI, cloud computing, and robust digital infrastructure demands. Our clients need trusted partners who can keep pace with complex systems and fast-turn schedules. LEMOINE is committed to meeting these needs with expertise, precision, and quality.

Summary

The Project Engineer will support the delivery of high-performance data center and mission-critical projects by assisting in field coordination, document control, quality assurance, and cost/schedule tracking. This role is ideal for individuals aspiring to become Project Managers, Superintendents, or Estimators in complex, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily field activities and resolve on-site issues with subcontractors and team members.

  • Interpret and communicate project drawings, specifications, and structured cabling requirements to ensure seamless execution.

  • Maintain project permit records and manage recurring fee payments.

  • Oversee quality-control plans: submittals, RFIs, change orders, non-conformance reports, and punch lists.

  • Lead structured testing and inspection programs, including three-phase inspection systems.

  • Develop and manage document logs: material tracking, test and inspection, concrete placement.

  • Assist with bid/package prep, estimating, and scope reviews to support cost-effective delivery.

  • Manage electronic document workflows-RFIs, correspondence, transmittals-using PCMS or similar.

  • Track budgets and schedules; prepare project progress updates for stakeholders.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Support project closeout and turnover to operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred-or equivalent experience.

  • 1–3 years' experience in construction, preferably within data centers, structured cabling, or mission-critical facilities.

  • Strong understanding of submittal/RFI/change order workflows and quality inspection processes.

  • Experience with structured cabling systems is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, PCMS, or Bluebeam desired.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work collaboratively in diverse, fast-paced project teams.

  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel to job sites.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • Work on active, mission-critical construction sites subject to outdoors conditions, noise, dust, and hazards.

  • Capable of walking, standing, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and performing physical tasks.

  • Might involve rotating travel to project locations.
