Job Description
This position is working with Pasadena Unified School District. The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Facilities Department is looking for a Project Engineer II ('Facilities Technician - Construction Management'). This professional will provide on-site technical and administrative support for construction activities at District facilities. They will assist Project Managers and Admin Staff with field coordination, documentation, inspections, and tracking of construction progress. This professional will support the monitoring of contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards. They will also assist with closeout documentation, punch lists, and coordination with school sites and District staff, to minimize operational impacts during construction and other duties as necessary.
- Provide advanced project engineering duties, change/cost tracking, and multi-trade coordination for more complex construction efforts.
- Provide on-site technical and administrative support for construction activities
- Assist Project Managers with field coordination and daily construction support
- Support tracking of construction progress, logs, and documentation
- Assist with site inspections and verification of completed work
- Support monitoring of contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards
- Coordinate with school sites and District staff to minimize operational impacts
- Assist with punch list development, tracking, and closeout documentation
Salary Range: $97,500 - $110,000
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or coursework in Construction Technology, Facilities Management, or related field preferred. 2–5 years of experience supporting construction projects preferred, facilities maintenance, or public works environments preferred.
Preferred Certifications / Registrations / Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 (preferred)
- ICC Inspector Certifications (preferred)
- Experience working on K–12 or public agency construction projects
