Project Engineer/Project Manager (Utilities )

Impact Recruitment is currently searching for a highly motivated Project Engineer/Project Manager to join our client's team in the East Gulf Region in Mobile, AL.  This is a production focused position that will be leading and managing utility projects. Water/wastewater experience is required.  Focused on creating inspired careers, our client offers excellent opportunities for career growth and professional development within their organization. What you’ll be doing:

• Manages projects to meet contracted budget, scope, and schedule.
• Performs engineering design for various utility projects, including water and wastewater, fiber/telecommunications, and natural gas.
• Oversee and guide designers and drafters to deliver utility projects.
• Responsibilities may include applying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies or standards. 
• Perform design computations, check plans or computations, and develop quantity takeoffs.
• Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results. 
• Applies standard practices and techniques to accomplish work assignments.  
• Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.  Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attends appropriate team meetings.  
• Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual. 

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 
• 5-12 years of utility design experience 
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation preferred
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Alabama is desired but not required 
• Ability to work well with other related disciplines and coordinate design activities for timely completion and within resource budgets
• Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems 
• Hydraulic modeling experience preferred
