Job Description:

Pay Rate: $20.38 per hour

The Project Intern will support the day-to-day operational needs of the Innovation and Policy team Next Education Workforce (NEW) Initiative at ASU's Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation. The intern will gain hands-on experience managing complex projects, coordinating logistics for events and convenings, supporting partnership communications, and developing operational systems. This role is ideal for a student interested in building skills in project management, education policy, or organizational operations within a fast-paced research and innovation environment.

This position is anticipated to end on August 7, 2026.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintaining and updating project management tools (e.g., Airtable) to track tasks, timelines, and deliverables across active workstreams
  • Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating logistics for internal team meetings and external partner convenings
  • Supporting planning and execution of events, workshops, and professional learning sessions (virtual and in-person)
  • Drafting and editing correspondence, agendas, meeting notes, and summary documents
  • Conducting background research and compiling materials to support policy briefs, grant writing, and partnership development
  • Assisting with file organization, document management, and communication tracking across Google Drive and other platforms
  • Supporting coordination with district and organizational partners

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive)
  • Experience with or willingness to learn project management tools (Airtable, Asana, or similar)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Interest in education, educator workforce policy, or research-practice partnerships preferred

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Evidence of effective communication
