This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Opportunity
An opportunity for a driven project management professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys collaborating with clients and project teams, and is motivated to deliver complex life sciences and mission-critical projects that support innovation, research, and scientific advancement.
At Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities—where people live, learn, work, and innovate. B&D partners with institutions, municipalities, and organizations to deliver complex real estate and capital projects through strategic advisory and program management services across the full project lifecycle.

Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and end-to-end project delivery—from early-stage strategy through design, construction, and occupancy.
Our Life Sciences team supports the development of laboratory, research, biotech, pharmaceutical, and mission-critical facilities across the country. We work closely with clients to deliver technically complex environments that support scientific discovery, operational excellence, and future growth.
As a Project Manager, you will work directly with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to manage planning, design, and construction activities for new facilities, tenant improvements, campus developments, and infrastructure projects within life sciences environments.

- Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to support successful project delivery
- Analyze budget and schedule impacts and provide recommendations to support project financial objectives
- Coordinate procurement of design, construction, and consultant services
- Support contract development, negotiation, review, and administration for design and construction agreements
- Oversee and review architectural, civil, structural, and engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and track action items
- Collaborate with clients, city officials, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and utility providers to communicate project status and proactively address issues
- Manage site development and civil engineering coordination activities, including infrastructure planning, entitlement support, and utility coordination
- Evaluate potential budget and schedule changes and recommend solutions to mitigate project risks
- Lead value engineering discussions and review alternatives with clients and project teams
- Coordinate peer reviews and specialty consultants as required for project success
- Provide guidance and oversight to Assistant Project Managers and other internal team members as needed
- Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with contract requirements, design intent, schedules, and quality standards
- Support the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and progress payment applications
- Observe and report on construction progress, project risks, and field-related issues
- Manage project closeout activities to ensure successful completion and turnover
- Contribute to business development efforts, including networking, proposal development, and client presentations
