Job Description

Title: Project ManagerOperating Company: Hobbs & Associates  Location: Annapolis Junction, MD FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $60-70kAbout: Hobbs & Associates- A member of the AIR Control Conceptsfamily.Hobbs & Associates specializes in providing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products and engineering services to commercial and industrial building contractors, architectural design firms, and business owners. Our collaborative approach helps bring lasting community infrastructure to life, including schools, universities, hospitals, military and municipal buildings, entertainment venues, hotels, and multi-family residences. Description:  We are seeking a dynamic, service-driven individual who thrives in working in a fast-paced, relationship-rich environment. In this role, the Project Manager will support the aftermarket sales team, provide effective customer service to team members, customers and factories concerning the details of the project.Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
  • Manage project costs ensuring target project performance is achieved
  • Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams
  • Retrieve necessary information (e.g. user/client requirements and relevant case studies)
  • Align project schedules and deliverable deadlines to customers’ project milestones
  • Communicate with owners, architects, MEP Consultants and General, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Contractors
  • Act as the point of contact for all participants
  • Develop and grow relationships with customers, contractors, project engineers and manufacturers
  • Create and maintain job files for each project throughout its duration
  • Organize project related data for order entry
  • Assist with distribution and receipt of submittals
  • Track ship dates and shipments to delivery; communicates with customers regarding updates
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers and factories concerning details of project
  • Generate additional quotes as needed during project execution
  • Generate quotes for parts and aftermarket equipment to assist salesman and send to customers
  • Respond to and track IOM & Submittal requests
  • Collaborate regularly with Parts, Service (for equipment start-up, functional testing, and commissioning purposes), and Accounting (invoicing coordination); prepare reports regularly
  • Supports and assists in the accounts receivable collection process for parts and equipment sales
  • Support the parts department both with counter sales and warehouse management.
  • Collaborate regularly with Service, Sales & Project Management groups.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers and manufacturing / supplier factories concerning details of project
  • Track and report manufacturer lead-times
  • Email, copy, enter data/orders and provide other clerical support to parts, service and sales team
  • Keeps management informed of progress and account status. Knows when to call for assistance from upper management to keep the sales process moving
Work Environment & Physical Demands: 
  • Will be required to work in an office environment and contribute to the team around you.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Experience: 
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Mechanical contracting with emphasis on HVAC equipment, replacement equipment and parts experience preferred
  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills and a demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with conflict and ambiguity and manage high volume projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • HVAC, Mechanical Contracting, or Construction industry experience preferred
