Overview
Job Description
Some companies hand a PM a set of plans and tell them to execute. Our client operates differently — here, you own the project from bid to closeout. This is a commercial general contractor with a strong regional reputation built on honesty, quality, and client relationships that last well beyond project completion. They work across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors, and they're looking for a PM who wants real ownership, not just a task list. If you're the kind of builder who wants to run the numbers, write the contracts, and drive the schedule — this is worth a close look.
What You'll Own
- Lead a portfolio of 3–4 concurrent commercial, industrial, or institutional projects ranging from $2M to $10M
- Own the full project lifecycle: estimating, contract writing, scheduling, change order management, and client communication
- Drive project financials from early-stage budgeting through final billing — you're accountable for the margin, not just the timeline
- Coordinate subcontractors and field teams to keep work on schedule and within scope
- Serve as the primary client-facing representative throughout the project, maintaining the trust-first culture the organization is known for
- Identify and resolve scope, schedule, and cost issues proactively — before they become problems
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience, OR a construction-related degree with demonstrated project responsibility
- Hands-on experience estimating and writing contracts — you've done this work yourself, not just reviewed it
- Comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously without losing the details that matter
- Strong communication skills with owners, subs, and internal teams alike
- A self-directed work style — you don't need someone managing your calendar
- Certifications (PMP, OSHA, etc.) are a plus, not a requirement
- Willingness to work in-office; candidates open to relocation are welcome to apply
Benefits
- Base salary: $75,000 – $100,000, commensurate with experience
