Construction Project Manager

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time (Salary)
Travel: Up to 25%

Industrial Construction & Redevelopment Projects

We are supporting a leading industrial real estate and construction business in the search for a Construction Project Manager to join its General Contracting division.

This role will be responsible for managing capital improvement, redevelopment, and construction projects across a national portfolio of industrial facilities. The Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction and procurement through execution and closeout, coordinating subcontractors, consultants, schedules, budgets, and site activity.

We are looking for someone with 3–5 years of experience working for a General Contractor, ideally across commercial, industrial, or large-scale renovation and redevelopment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 8–10 active construction and capital improvement projects
  • Oversee projects from preconstruction, bidding, and procurement through construction completion
  • Develop scopes of work and solicit competitive subcontractor bids
  • Evaluate proposals and support subcontractor selection and negotiations
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and construction trades
  • Conduct site visits and monitor project progress and quality
  • Resolve field issues, construction conflicts, and scope changes
  • Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure projects meet safety, permitting, code, quality, and company requirements
  • Review contractor invoices, pay applications, and project documentation

Typical Project Types

Projects will focus on the redevelopment, modernization, and improvement of large industrial facilities, including:

  • Loading dock reconstruction and expansion
  • Roofing and building envelope improvements
  • Environmental remediation and brownfield redevelopment
  • Heavy concrete flatwork and parking lot reconstruction
  • Electrical infrastructure and lighting upgrades
  • Structural repairs and facility improvements
  • Interior renovations and tenant improvements
  • Adaptive reuse and industrial redevelopment projects

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of construction project management experience
  • Experience working for a General Contractor is required
  • Experience delivering commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor management, scheduling, budgeting, and construction delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

  • Experience with industrial facilities, redevelopment, or capital improvement projects
  • Experience managing subcontractor bidding and procurement
  • Commercial electrical construction experience
  • Experience with estimating, budgeting, and value engineering

Work Environment

This role is based full-time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, within a collaborative construction team. Travel to project sites across the national portfolio is expected up to 25%.
