Across New York State their notable projects include the Time Warner Building, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, Seven World Trade Center and Goldman Sachs' Lower Manhattan Headquarters.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDescription As a Project Manager - JOCyou will have the opportunity to:
- Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects
- Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids
- Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
- Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required
- Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction*
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience as an Estimator. Advanced degree desired
- Experience working on NYC Metro area construction projects is required. Experience working with public NYC agencies is desired
- Experience working on multiple projects and with various clients at the same time is required
- Candidate needs to have Job Order Contracting (JOC) experience or experience working on Unit Price projects in NYC public sector
- Candidates must have worked for small local and regional contractors that focus on smaller projects or renovation and/or tenant improvement work
- Extensive construction industry experience working in public sector is a plus
- Candidates must also have strong computer skills and be proficient with estimating software
- Excellent written and verbal skills*
