Job Description
Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a federal healthcare construction project in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
This role will manage a major expansion and renovation project inside an active medical facility. The work includes new construction, renovation of existing space, and coordination of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and other construction work.
The Project Manager will work closely with field leadership, subcontractors, design teams, quality control, safety personnel, and government representatives from startup through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage the project from startup through completion and closeout
- Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, design professionals, and government representatives
- Oversee schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Manage both new construction and renovation work within an active healthcare facility
- Coordinate multiple scopes of work and building systems
- Handle issues that could impact schedule, budget, quality, or project progress
- Make sure work stays in line with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards
- Coordinate inspections, testing, shutdowns, tie-ins, and turnover activities
- Support punch list, commissioning, and closeout
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Project Manager experience on commercial or federal construction projects
- Successful completion of at least one comparable project as Project Manager
- Experience managing projects valued at $7M+ strongly preferred
- Federal construction experience with VA, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, or another federal agency preferred
- Healthcare, occupied facility, renovation, or expansion experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing complex construction projects with multiple scopes of work
- Strong understanding of federal documentation, scheduling, subcontractor management, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
