Job Description

We’re seeking a driven Project Manager to join our Chico team and take the lead on civil construction projects from start to finish. If you’re a hands-on Project Manager who enjoys solving problems, leading teams, and seeing your work come to life in the field, we’d love to meet you. Based in Chico, this role offers the opportunity to manage meaningful civil projects while mentoring others, partnering with clients, and ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and on budget.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to a Construction Manager, the responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Project Planning and Execution

  • Understand our client’s needs and the scope of the project.
  • Estimate resources needed to complete projects.
  • Oversee CPM, 3 Week, and 9 Day schedules.
  • Pre-costing activities of work.
  • Manage the cost report, AR and AP aspect of assigned projects.

Team Management

  • Manage one or more direct reports.

Safety Management

  • Conduct site safety surveys to evaluate safety program implementation.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance to ensure Cal-OSHA compliance.
  • Implement and enforce company and client safety policies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Other duties as directed by the Construction Manager.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing civil engineering projects and jobsite safety.
  • Able to read and understand Plans and Specifications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Plan Grid and scheduling software. Ability to learn new programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with internal and external personnel of all levels. Capable of negotiating with clients.
  • Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
