Summary

The Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of utility-scale solar projects on behalf of the Owner. This role is accountable for pre-construction planning, supporting EPC selection and contract execution, and construction execution management through to project closeout. Acting as the primary interface between the Owner, EPC partners, consultants, and vendors, the Project Manager ensures projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Beyond direct project delivery, the Project Manager will contribute to departmental development, process improvement, and personnel training, helping to build best-in-class construction management capabilities for the organization.

Requirements

Project Delivery

  • Lead assigned projects from development handoff through construction completion and turnover to operations.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, ensuring compliance with Owner's objectives.
  • Directly oversee EPC contract execution, including change management, claims mitigation, and risk management.
  • Communicating and reporting updates between all stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Serve as the Owner's representative with EPCs, consultants, landowners, utilities, and local authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure transparency, collaboration, and alignment with project goals.

Departmental Support

  • Support scheduling, forecasting, and reporting for the broader Construction group.
  • Assist with departmental training and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Support development of best practices, standardized processes, and knowledge-sharing.

Procurement & Contracting

  • Support EPC RFP processes, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations.
  • Draft and review scopes of work for various construction-phase activities.

Health, Safety, & Environmental Leadership

  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as Owner's policies.
  • Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered
  • Required Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in managing EPC contracts and owner's representative responsibilities.

Other Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Smartsheets
  • Experience with Procore construction management software
  • Experience any in prior leadership roles is preferred

Physical Requirements

  • The Project Manager may be required to endure the following physical activities, environmental conditions, and physical demands:
  • Must be able to handle 10+ hour workdays
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends
  • Must be able to handle high stress environments
  • Must be able to function in outside environments, construction sites during any given season
