Job Description
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of IT work experience (REQUIRED)
- 4 or more years managing projects (REQUIRED)
- Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions (REQUIRED)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum preferred
Project Management & Methodologies (Required):
- Understanding of SDLC and development methodologies including SCRUM and Agile
- Understanding of the Sprint Cycle, SCRUM artifacts, and development work on a Kanban Board
- Ability to create project artifacts and documents from undocumented processes and applications
- Extensive knowledge of Scrum and Agile practices both in theory and practice
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Ability to understand and document development work to create User Stories and report on development progress
- Ability to identify potential process, application, and project improvements; document and implement changes as requested by Business Users
- Proficiency with Kanban Board applications like Jira, ServiceNow, or Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Proficiency in creating documents, diagrams, or write-ups from undocumented processes or applications
Preferred Certifications: Candidates with the following certifications will be given preference:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of financial systems and financial accounting
Soft Skills:
- Strong collaboration and soft skills to collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional demeanor when dealing with all levels of management and staff
- Strong mentoring and training capabilities
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Experience working on state government projects
Preferred:
- Prior government/public sector experience
- Experience with large-scale financial system implementations or migrations
