Job Description
Overview This role supports a large, fast moving construction program and focuses on managing the purchase requisition (PR) and purchase order (PO) lifecycle. The coordinator will handle data driven processes, vendor communication, invoice matching, and contribute to reporting related to spend and program cost comparisons. This position offers exposure to complex capital projects and cross functional operations within a major utility environment. Key Responsibilities Process and manage purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) from creation through approval. Coordinate with vendors to obtain required information and ensure timely order execution. Match and reconcile invoices against purchase orders. Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of PR/PO workflows. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers to support project financials. Assist in developing reports related to vendor spend, cost tracking, and program comparisons. Support continuous improvement of purchasing and reporting processes. Typical Day High-volume data entry and transaction processing. Reviewing and validating invoices against open purchase orders. Communicating with vendors and internal project teams. Managing workflow approvals and follow-ups. Contributing to recurring reports and spend summaries. Work Environment Highly collaborative but primarily independent work. Frequent interaction with Project Managers and Construction Managers. Fast-paced corporate setting with shifting priorities. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong computer skills and comfort with data-centric work. Experience with purchasing processes or purchase order systems. Vendor management exposure. Data analytics or reporting capabilities. Project management familiarity (formal certification not required). Non-Technical Skills Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Problem-solving abilities and comfort navigating ambiguity. Accountability and initiative in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Background 1 3 years of professional experience (entry to early career). Prior exposure to utilities, government, public sector, or construction project environments. Experience in purchasing, procurement, planning, or advanced reporting.
