Job Description

TITLE: Project Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Project Manager - Administration is responsible for coordinating and managing cross-functional administrative projects that support the organization's operational, safety, environmental, and utility management initiatives. This role serves as a key resource within the Administration team by providing project management support to Safety, Environmental, and Administrative leadership while developing expertise in utility contract management to provide operational backup. The position is instrumental in driving continuous improvement, reducing reliance on external consultants, and supporting strategic initiatives across the facility and the broader Group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum of 3-5 years of project management or administrative project coordination experience.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and organizational levels.Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with project management software is preferred.Ability to learn utility procurement and contract management processes.Experience supporting safety, environmental, or compliance initiatives is preferred.Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and coordinate administrative projects supporting facility operations and corporate initiatives.Provide project management support to the Safety Manager for safety initiatives and projects at the local facility and across the Group.Assist the Environmental Specialist with environmental projects, incident coordination, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.Develop working knowledge of electricity and natural gas procurement and contracting processes under the guidance of designated personnel to serve as a backup resource and provide additional support during peak workloads.Support Administration leadership with special projects, strategic initiatives, reporting, and process improvement efforts.Coordinate project schedules, budgets, documentation, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful project execution.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and external partners to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.Support efforts to reduce reliance on third-party environmental consultants by developing internal project management capabilities and assisting with environmental compliance activities.Prepare reports, presentations, meeting agendas, and project status updates for leadership.Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

Primarily office environment with frequent computer use.Occasional travel between facilities or project sites may be required.Periodic exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments while supporting safety and environmental projects.Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support critical projects or operational needs.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This position is part of the Administration Department and supports multiple functional areas, including Administration, Safety, Environmental, and Utilities.The role is designed to strengthen internal project management capabilities and provide succession planning and operational continuity for critical business functions.The position will help reduce dependence on external environmental consultants by expanding in-house project management support and expertise.

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

Coordinate and prioritize assigned projects within established timelines and budgets.Recommend process improvements and project efficiency.Make day-to-day project management decisions within assigned responsibilities.Escalate significant project risks, compliance concerns, or resource constraints to leadership.Coordinate activities among internal departments and external vendors to achieve project objectives.

Desktop or laptop computer.Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).Project management and document management software.Microsoft Teams or other virtual meeting platforms.Office equipment including printers, scanners, and copiers.Mobile phone and standard office communication equipment.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer.Frequent keyboarding and use of office equipment.Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.May occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.Occasional travel throughout the facility and to other company locations.

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

Continuous use of computer monitors and digital devices.Ability to read, analyze, and prepare reports, contracts, spreadsheets, and project documentation.Visual acuity is sufficient to review detailed documents and presentations.Ability to observe workplace conditions while supporting safety and environmental initiatives.
