Job DetailsThis role is responsible for leading complex construction projects while taking on increased ownership of client relationships, financial performance, and team leadership. This role serves as a key driver of both project success and business growth, actively contributing to business development efforts, client pursuits, and long-term relationship building. The Project Manager II oversees budgets, forecasting, contracts, and risk management, while ensuring projects are executed efficiently and aligned with company standards. In addition to managing project delivery, this role mentors and develops junior team members, supports team performance, and helps drive consistency in processes and best practices. Success in this role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to balance project execution with client engagement and strategic growth initiatives. What You'll Do:Leadership, Collaboration & Professional DevelopmentConsistently model and reinforce our core values of empathy, perseverance, integrity, and curiosity through your decision-making and execution.Manage and grow strong, positive relationships with clients, project partners, architects, end users, and ownersParticipate in business development effortsTake initiative on new business development opportunities, lead generation, and pursuitsBuild confidence in interviewing, presenting, and pitching to prospective clientsRepresent the company at kickoff, mid-project, and closeout gatherings to strengthen relationships and leave a lasting impressionMaintain proactive, clear, and professional communication with project partners, prioritizing verbal communication followed by written documentationManage project issues by presenting both the problem and potential solutions to your Team LeadDeliver performance feedback and contribute to formal reviews for direct reportsDelegate effectively, oversee workload balance, and provide support to junior staffProvide mentorship, oversight, and support to Project Engineers and Project CoordinatorsBusiness, Financial & Operational EffectivenessParticipate in Trade Partner selection, interviews, awards, and buyoutsParticipate in creation of Scopes of Work, Exhibit A documents, and the Schedule of Values for all Work OrdersMonitor project financial performance: oversee budgets, manage contingency, allowances, and general requirements, and ensure alignment with profit goalsEnsure timely delivery of accounting questionnaires, pencil draw submissions, and change order/claims approvalsManage claims, financial reconciliation, and closeout processes, including contingency resolution and Day 2 work planningOversee job cost details and financial forecasting; manage cost recovery, GRs, contingency, and allowances.Accurately develop and manage monthly project profit forecasts independently. Project Management, Coordination, & ExecutionManage multiple tasks with the assistance of your Team LeadParticipate in initial project setup, including permitting, project folder creation, and schedule development in partnership with the SuperintendentParticipate in kickoff meetings to align team members on expectations, procurement strategy, schedule, profit targets, and responsibilitiesMaintain comprehensive awareness of project milestones, deliverables, and critical path itemsEstimate a project with approval from Team Lead & Preconstructionactively mentor junior staff throughout each phase of the process, while consistently identifying and creating opportunities to support their growth and development.
