Responsibilities
As a Permanent Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of our construction projects, overseeing all aspects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
- Developing comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
- Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand and adhere to job expectations and standards.
- Reviewing the work progress on a daily basis and making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
- Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status, and presenting them to stakeholders.
- Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Resolving any problems that may arise and providing solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting issues.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you need to have a strong foundation in project management and construction. The following qualifications are necessary:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Proven experience in project management and the ability to lead a project from conception to completion.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction details, building systems, and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of construction project management software such as Procore or similar.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a knack for making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
