  • MUST have demonstrated ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.

Job Summary: A Project Manager is needed to support the Digital Instrumentation and Control (Digital I&C) project management team atPower Station in Mineral, VA. Manages or supports specific phases of Digital I&C and projects for all phases of a project. This includes engineering, procurement, construction contracts, construction activities, commissioning and transition to commercial operation, and work management. Projects ranging in size from major complex projects to smaller improvement projects in existing generating facilities. Range of projects run from renovating existing spaces to develop server rooms as well as modify existing plant control systems, both non-safety and safety. These are highly technical projects with many overlapping Reports to Supervisor of Project Management.Preferred Years of Experience: 7+ years of nuclear industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.Education: Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education Other Education: Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management Are there any specific companies/industries you’d like to see in the candidate’s experience? Candidate must have nuclear industry experience Preferred Interview Process Overview (High level): Teams Interview –Camera On Project Manager –Digital Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)Position Summary: The Project Manager –Digital Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of large capital modernization projects within a nuclear power generating station. This role leads cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and close digital control system upgrades, including transition from analog to digital plant systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and on-schedule implementation. The Project Manager serves as the central integrator across engineering, procurement, construction, outage planning, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with station goals, fleet strategies, and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership & Execution
  • Manage assigned Digital I&C projects through all phases: initiation, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, budget, and performance metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and vendors.
  • Coordinate integration of projects into outage and online work schedules.
  • Budget & Cost Management
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance.
  • Interface with cost controls, finance, and business services to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to funding approvals.
  • Identify cost risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Schedule & Resource Management
  • Develop and maintain baseline schedules aligned with station milestones and outage windows.
  • Track project progress and adjust plans to meet critical deadlines.
  • Coordinate resources across engineering, construction, and vendor organizations.
  • Risk & Issue Management
  • Own and maintain the project risk register as a living document.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, and financial risks.
  • Escalate critical risks and issues to leadership as needed.
  • Engineering & Technical Integration
  • Support development and implementation of digital control system upgrades, including primary and secondary plant monitoring and control systems.
  • Interface with engineering organizations and vendors to ensure quality design deliverables and technical alignment.
  • Participate in design reviews, challenge boards, and technical decision-making forums.
  • Construction & Commissioning Oversight
  • Coordinate construction activities and ensure readiness for field execution.
  • Lead plant commissioning activities, including:
  • System walkdowns
  • Turnover package development
  • Punch list management
  • Coordination with operations, maintenance, and training
  • Ensure smooth transition to commercial operation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Serve as the primary liaison between project team, station leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations (e.G., risk review boards, funding reviews).
  • Build strong partnerships with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Governance, Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements, quality assurance programs, and company procedures.
  • Support development of project scope documents, contracts, and procurement strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement and application of fleet operating experience (OE).
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in nuclear, energy, or heavy industrial project environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, including scope, schedule, and cost
  • Strong understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning processes
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Digital I&C systems, control system modernization, or plant upgrades
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience with outage planning and execution
  • Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements and nuclear quality assurance programs
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and EPC relationships
Work Environment:
  • Primarily site-based with coordination across station departments and vendor organizations
  • Requires support during outage periods, including extended hours
  • Participation in major refueling or extended outage schedules may be required
