Project Manager

Accounting Project Manager Location: Las Vegas Nevada (onsite) 12+Month Contract This role will oversee complex accounting work related to capital project accounting, project lifecycle tracking, and financial system optimization across the companys electric transmission and distribution operations. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise, project management experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership while managing large cross-functional initiatives involving Accounting, Finance, and Data Analytics teams. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a major accounting transformation project impacting financial reporting and cost recovery. Define project scope, timelines, milestones, resources, and risk mitigation strategies. Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align project goals with corporate strategy. Develop and present executive-level reports, dashboards, and project updates. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Utility Accounting & Financial Oversight Manage and improve accounting processes related to: Capital project and work order accounting Transmission and distribution asset accounting AFUDC / CIAC processes Revenue recognition and billing adjustments Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal audit requirements. Validate financial accuracy, maintain data integrity, and support regulatory reporting. Use advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis to support project decisions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. 510+ years of accounting experience, preferably within utilities or other capital-intensive industries. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale accounting, finance, or ERP implementation projects. Knowledge of GAAP, FERC accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory reporting. Strong analytical skills with experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the electric utility industry or other regulated environments. Expertise in capital project accounting, work order management, or asset accounting. Advanced Excel and financial data modeling skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
