Job Description

We're seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead complex healthcare construction projects, including imaging suites and linear accelerator installations. The ideal candidate has proven AHCA inspection experience and a track record delivering projects in active hospital environments while ensuring safety, compliance, and minimal disruption to clinical operations

Description

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Own full project lifecycle: preconstruction, buyout, construction, commissioning, AHCA inspections, closeout, and warranty.
  • Develop and execute phasing and logistics plans for occupied healthcare settings, minimizing disruptions to clinical operations.
  • Lead weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings; manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay apps, and punch list through turnover.
Healthcare Compliance & AHCA
  • Plan and lead AHCA submissions, Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA/PCRA), ICRA/ILSM, and readiness walkthroughs; coordinate timely responses and corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to AHCA, FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals/Outpatient Facilities, NFPA 99/101, the Florida Building Code, and The Joint Commission environment-of-care standards.
  • Maintain documentation and life safety drawings needed for inspections and occupancy.
Imaging & LINAC Expertise
  • Manage OEM coordination and room readiness requirements for MRI/CT/PET/CT and LINAC (e.g., Varian, Elekta, Siemens, GE), including:
    • Shielding (RF for MRI; primary/secondary barriers, maze design, and door systems for LINACs).
    • MEP tolerances (clean power, grounding, HVAC loads, vibration and EMI mitigation).
    • Rigging, delivery, and installation sequencing with OEM and hospital facilities.
    • Commissioning and acceptance testing with OEM physicists/clinical teams.
Risk, Safety & Infection Control
  • Lead site safety, ICRA containment, negative air/pressure monitoring, utility shutdowns, and tie-ins; maintain ILSM measures.
  • Implement emergency response plans for interim operations and unplanned outages in critical areas.
Financials & Schedule
  • Build and maintain baseline schedules (P6 or MS Project); drive pull planning/Last Planner® where applicable.
  • Own budget, cost control, cash flow, contingency management, and profitability; manage vendor and subcontractor buyout.
  • Negotiate change orders fairly and promptly; maintain rigorous cost and risk tracking.
Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, clinical leaders, facilities, infection prevention, safety, and IT/biomed.
  • Proactively communicate risks, constraints, and decisions; provide executive-level reporting and dashboards.
Quality & Closeout
  • Enforce QA/QC plans; ensure as-builts, O&M manuals, training, and commissioning are complete and auditable.
  • Drive substantial completion, AHCA clearance, and clinical go-live success.

Profile

  • 8+ years of progressive healthcare construction experience, including work in occupied acute care settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven AHCA inspection experience
  • Hands-on delivery of imaging suites (MRI/CT/PET/CT) and at least one Linear Accelerator project (or other radiation therapy suites).
  • Strong knowledge of FGI, NFPA 99/101, Florida Building Code, Joint Commission, ICRA/ILSM, and life safety compliance.
  • Proficiency with Procore (or CMiC), Bluebeam, MS Project or Primavera P6, and standard cost controls.
  • Demonstrated success leading precon, estimating support, MEP coordination, and commissioning.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; capable of executive-level presentations and clinical stakeholder engagement.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet hospital credentialing and vaccination policies.
