Building And Construction Project Manager
Our client is a highly respected Rochester-based general contractor and construction management firm with a long history of delivering high-quality projects across Western New York. The company has built a reputation for craftsmanship, integrity, and strong client partnerships, successfully completing a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-family developments.
As a Building and Construction Project Manager in Rochester, NY you will:
- Manage projects from award through final completion
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and consultants
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement activities
- Track project costs, forecasting, and financial performance
- Lead project meetings and maintain stakeholder communication
- Partner closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and contractual requirements
- Maintain client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Support project closeout, turnover, and warranty processes
A successful Building and Construction Project Manager in Rochester, NY should have:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction
- Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and project delivery
- Experience managing project budgets, contracts, and change orders
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and project teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-family construction experience
- Experience managing commercial, institutional, or mixed-use projects
- Background working closely with field operations and Superintendents
- Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
- Experience with negotiated, design-build, or construction management project delivery methods
- Candidates with a combination of strong technical construction knowledge, financial management skills, and client-facing experience will be especially successful in this role.
