Job Description

Project ManagerOur client is a well-established general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering commercial, institutional, and educational construction projects throughout Western New York. Known for its commitment to quality construction, strong client relationships, and employee development, the company continues to expand its presence across Buffalo, NY and surrounding communities. The firm has a particularly strong portfolio of educational construction work and continues to secure repeat business in the K-12 sector, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with K-12 construction experience.As a Project Manager, you will:Manage projects from award through completion

Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules

Lead project planning and preconstruction activities

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders

Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation

Track project financials and forecasting

Maintain communication with clients, architects, and consultants

Work closely with Superintendents to ensure project success

Monitor quality control and safety compliance

Manage project closeout and turnover processes

Identify and mitigate project risks proactivelyA significant portion of the company's work involves K-12 educational construction, including renovations, additions, and new school facilities. Candidates with direct K-12 experience will be especially well-positioned for success. Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft OfficeStrong knowledge of project financial management, procurement, and subcontractor coordination

Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

Highly Preferred QualificationsDirect K-12 construction experience

Experience managing school additions, renovations, and new school construction projects

Knowledge of occupied school construction environments

Familiarity with public school construction processes and stakeholder communication

Experience handling the unique scheduling and phasing requirements of K-12 projectsK-12 experience is highly preferred and will receive strong consideration during the hiring process. Candidates who have successfully delivered K-12 projects as a Project Manager will stand out significantly.
