Job Title: Project Manager (Fire/Security Systems)• Location: Rio Rancho, NM 87144 (Onsite)• Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extensions)• Pay Rate: $35.00 $45.00/hr• Work Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM• Travel: Up to 50%
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in fire alarm, security systems, and construction project management. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of installation projects including fire alarm systems, CCTV, card access, and related technologies. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects while ensuring compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Manage project administration for installation of fire alarm, security, CCTV, and access control systems
- Coordinate project activities with management, engineering, field teams, and contracts administration
- Maintain and update project logs including timelines, manpower, and project scope
- Support construction schedules to ensure timely installation and final certification
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of:
- Site visits
- RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Permits and applications
- Communication logs
- Project closeout documentation
- Coordinate with contracts and sales teams to align engineering and project requirements
Operations & Financial Oversight
- Execute manpower backlog reports to optimize staffing and profitability
- Implement and manage change orders to improve project margins
- Provide estimations and proposals for new and existing clients
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all safety programs and regulations
- Monitor adherence to local and national fire/security standards
- Support inspections and certification processes
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with engineering, field operations, and leadership teams
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure project success
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fire alarm/security systems and project management
- Background in construction or low-voltage systems preferred
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or Associate's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as PMP, NICET, EST3, or State Certifications
- Knowledge of fire alarm inspections, regulations, and compliance standards
- Experience with CCTV, card access systems, and low-voltage installations
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting)
- Must be located within 1 1.5 hours of Rio Rancho, NM
- Willingness to work extended hours when required
