Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of commercial construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, coordinating all aspects of the project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate design reviews, submittals, procurement, and construction activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule, quality, and budget compliance.
- Assign responsibilities, coordinate workflows, and ensure effective collaboration across all project stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide project staff to ensure professional growth and project success.
- Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Facilitate communication between clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal staff.
- Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones to senior management and clients.
- Oversee punch lists, inspections, and project closeout activities to ensure complete and successful turnover.
- Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and financial performance metrics.
- Ensure timely submission of all documentation required for project closeout and client approvals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
