Schedule Monday through Friday, Eastern time; core hours 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Location Primarily remote; travel to Atlanta, GA, and other authorized sites as needed
About the opportunity
SMX is seeking a PMP-certified Project Manager to lead SAMS operations and modernization for HHS, the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, and the Strategic National Stockpile. Manage delivery, budgets, resources and quality across operations, data quality and third-party logistics integration.
What you will do
Own the project plan, integrated schedule, milestones, resource assignments, budgets and delivery performance.
Coordinate operations, development, Oracle ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, data, integration, testing and support teams.
Lead customer reviews, manage risks and changes, track actions and escalate decisions.
Track service levels and deliverables, enforce quality controls, and coordinate corrective actions and acceptance.
Lead transition planning and knowledge transfer; coordinate readiness, continuity and disaster recovery.
Coordinate 24/7 on-call coverage and emergency surge readiness, including leadership support outside normal hours when required.
Required qualifications
Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
At least 10 years managing projects of similar scope, size and complexity.
Demonstrated management of project plans, schedules, resources, budgets, quality and milestone performance.
Strong customer communication and ability to coordinate technical teams and competing operational priorities.
Preferred experience
Federal IT delivery; Oracle ERP or cloud platforms; Agile/Scrum; data quality or 3PL/EDI integration; regulated healthcare systems; and disaster recovery or emergency response.
Employment and access requirements
Employment is contingent on award, customer approval and onboarding. Before starting, candidates must complete HHS-required Tier 2 (Non-Sensitive) vetting, obtain agency access approval, sign nondisclosure agreements and complete required training. Access eligibility must be maintained. The anticipated contract has one base year and four option years; continued employment depends on requirements and funding.
