Senior Project Manager – Operations & Automation
Location: Elgin, ILSalary: Up to $135,000 + BonusType: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Are you a seasoned Project Manager who thrives in highly engineered, hands-on manufacturing environments? This is an opportunity to lead complex, high-impact projects within a company that designs, builds, and manufactures its own automation and production systems from the ground up.
This isn’t a “manage from a distance” role—you’ll be deeply embedded in operations, working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and leadership to drive projects from concept through full-scale production.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead multiple, concurrent projects tied to automation, production, and operational improvements
- Drive full lifecycle project execution—from planning and design through implementation and production ramp-up
- Partner closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support in-house automation builds
- Oversee timelines, budgets, resources, and scope to ensure successful delivery
- Act as the central point of coordination across operations, supply chain, and leadership
- Identify risks, resolve bottlenecks, and keep projects moving in a fast-paced environment
- Provide clear, consistent updates to stakeholders and executive leadership
- Support facility and capacity expansion initiatives as the company continues to grow
- Champion continuous improvement across project management processes and execution
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of Project Management experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong background supporting automation, production equipment, or engineer-to-order systems
- Experience working in companies that design/build their own equipment is highly preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in both structured and fast-moving environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with both traditional and agile project methodologies is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
