Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager 

DETAILS:• Duration: Direct Hire• Location: Yonkers, NY• Salary:  $112-146K• Shift: Monday to Friday, standard daytime hours (with travel as needed)

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for a full-time, direct hire opportunity supporting railcar manufacturing and project execution.

Support the Project Manager in executing complex projects by managing vendors, tracking deliverables, coordinating internal teams, and ensuring project milestones, cost targets, and contractual requirements are met.

• Level 5: Fully manages vendors independently without Project Manager support• Level 4: Proactively controls vendors to prevent future project impact• Level 3: Manages vendor outputs (delivery schedules, issue resolution)• Level 2: Tracks daily vendor progress in coordination with engineering• Level 1: Supports vendor management under direction of Project Manager

Project Coordination & Execution• Support Project Manager and Deputy PM in daily project activities and execution• Coordinate and oversee Project Coordinators’ daily work• Track project milestones, schedules, FMI’s, and deliverables• Manage closure of project deliverables and action items

Vendor & Contract Management• Support management of major vendors through production, delivery, and warranty phases• Monitor vendor performance, schedules, and issue resolution• Assist in supplier negotiations (with PM oversight)• Understand contract requirements and subcontract agreements

Communication & Documentation• Manage project correspondence including letters, reports, and meeting minutes• Maintain project databases, deliverables tracking, and reporting metrics• Prepare reports for internal teams and customer review• Act as interface between internal teams, customers, vendors, and affiliates

Risk & Financial Management• Identify project risks (cost, schedule, technical) and support mitigation efforts• Execute action plans to resolve critical issues• Support financial milestone tracking and contract execution

Meetings & Stakeholder Engagement• Participate in and support project meetings with customers, vendors, and internal teams• Represent the company in design reviews, reliability meetings, and project discussions• Support Project Execution and Cost Management group activities

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering• 5+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or project coordination• Mechanical, electrical, or systems design experience preferred• Rail industry or related industry experience strongly preferred

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills• Experience managing vendors, schedules, and project deliverables• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment• Strong organizational and reporting skills• Proficiency in project tracking tools and standard business software

This role involves a mix of office-based project coordination and on-site engagement with customers, vendors, and production teams. Travel may be required both domestically and internationally depending on project needs.
