Job Description
We are hiring an AP/Junior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. Great opportunity to join a very well-established and stable company.Temp to Hire position. Will move to hybrid schedule once all training is completed.Hot Buttons: Must have strong understanding of debits and credits and strong journal entry experience.What You’ll Do
- Review job closeout packages, including purchase orders, invoices, and project charges
- Research variances and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile project costs and transfer them to fixed asset system
- Set up new fixed assets and retire replaced assets with proper documentation
- Prepare and post journal entries with accurate debits and credits
- Reclassify costs and record offsetting journal entries as needed
- Analyze project costs against budgets
- Prepare final cost summaries for closed projects
- Ensure all required documentation, approvals, and support are complete and accurate
- Strong understanding of debits and credits
- Solid experience with journal entries
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Experience reviewing invoices or POs (AP background is a plus)
- Fixed asset experience not required
