Job Description
Harbor is seeking an experienced Pediatric PMHNP to join the Toledo team.
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and is on-site.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
- Must be a licensed CNP/CNS and have an active DEA license in Ohio.
- Two years relevant professional experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a variety of audiences, and willing to represent the organization within the medical/health-care community.
- Must be proficient and accurate in computer use.
- BLS and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:
- Responsible, in a collaborative practice model with supervising physician, nursing staff, and other staff for the medication for the medication management of assigned clients.
- Prescribes medications as indicated and appropriate within the scope of her/his practice. Sends prescriptions in a timely manner per protocol.
- Ensures appropriate hospitalizations (voluntary and involuntary) of her/his clients as indicated and Harbor clients if required.
- Responsive to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Types clinical documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor.
- Utilizes EHR and other technologies, including but not limited to, self-typing, voice recognition, e-prescribing, etc. as appropriate and acceptable to Harbor.
- In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations established by Harbor.
- Consults with clinical staff regarding treatment issues as appropriate. Signs and co-signs appropriate billing documents and treatment plans.
- Participates actively in Medical Services Team meetings.
- Provides consultation and education to internal and external customers as appropriate.
- Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth.
Additional Psychiatric Mental Health expectations may include:
- Conducts psychiatric/medication evaluations, medication reviews and ongoing treatment for clients.
- Responsible for accurate and timely documentation including psychiatric assessment, med/somatic progress notes and treatment plans, medication orders, and other paperwork associated with psychiatric care.
