Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYThe Lifespan Psychiatric APRN provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults. This role collaborates with an integrated care team to support whole-person health and improve outcomes across the lifespan. The provider will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and may provide services within one or more Wheeler programs, and the relative concentration between programs may change with the needs of the agency.

Other staff on-site include: Primary Care providers, Medical Assistants, Care Management staff, front desk staff and behavioral health staff.

Genoa Pharmacy and Quest Laboratory on site.

PMHNP full-time salary of $120,000-$142,000 based on years of experience.

$10,000 sign-on bonus available

LOCATION Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Bristol, CT. This is a NHSC approved site eligible for the loan repayment program.

  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician
  • Board Certified PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) or Psychiatrist
  • Active DEA Controlled substance registration

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConducts psychiatric evaluation and formulates accurate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Manages prescribed medication, performs mental status examinations, develops and presents clear clinical impressions and recommendations that are specific and attainable. Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to specific problems. Develops and documents clear clinical formulations.Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and effective modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner.Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings and supervision.Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy.Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program.Communicates in a professional, positive, and effective manner with all clients, families, and collaborating professionals.Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
