This is a hands-on, community-based role focused on helping people function better in daily life by working collaboratively with licensed therapists and psychiatrists to ensure clients are meeting the treatment goals outlined by the professional mental health team.

Adult PRP Direct Care Worker – What You Will Do

As an Adult PRP Worker, you will help adults practice and maintain real-world skills needed to live independently and remain stable in the community. This is not psychotherapy—it is practical, structured support that reinforces clinical treatment.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with adult clients in the community, home, or clinic

  • Supporting daily living skills such as routines, organization, appointment follow-through, emotional regulation, and problem-solving

  • Reinforcing treatment recommendations from psychiatrists and therapists and ensuring they are attending required appointments

  • Monitoring progress toward individualized rehabilitation goals

  • Helping clients navigate community resources and services

  • Coordinating care with therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, and other providers

  • Completing required documentation accurately and on time in the electronic medical record

  • Participating in supervision and weekly team meetings

Schedule & Work Structure (Adult Program)

  • Primarily daytime weekday hours

  • Flexible scheduling based on client needs and caseload

  • Combination of:

    • Face-to-face client visits

    • Documentation and care coordination

    • Team meetings and supervision

  • In-person community visits are required per Maryland PRP regulations

Training & Supervision

  • Approximately 60 hours of initial training

  • Training includes:

    • Adult PRP service model

    • DLA-20 assessments and Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs)

    • Documentation standards and EMR use

    • Professional boundaries and safety

  • Ongoing supervision provided by the PRP Program Rehabilitation Specialist Supervisor

  • Continued education and in-service training are encouraged and supported

Transportation & Travel Requirements

  • Local travel is a required part of this role

  • Must have:

    • Valid driver's license

    • Clean driving record

    • Reliable personal vehicle

  • Mileage and approved travel are reimbursed per agency policy

Who This Role Is a Good Fit For

  • Individuals who enjoy independent, community-based work

  • Those interested in mental health, social services, or clinical careers

  • People who value structure, accountability, and collaboration

  • Applicants who are comfortable balancing client interaction with documentation requirements

Work Environment

  • Community-based, in-person services

  • Frequent collaboration with psychiatrists and licensed therapists
