Job Description
- Determine eligibility for individuals suspected of having an intellectual and/or developmental disability.
- Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team for clinical consultations with NBRC Service Coordinators.
- Assist in reviewing and coding the CDER for psychiatric and medical diagnoses.
- Assist NBRC Service Coordinators with forensic issues, such as writing and reviewing court reports including sections of the 1370, diversion and 6500 reports.
- Assist with the appeals process in regards to eligibility disputes.
- Direct special projects.
- Provide community education and development of enhanced clinical resources.
- Supervise interns, if needed.
- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology, with 2 years experience in testing/diagnostic evaluation of people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, physical handicaps or emotional disorders. or
- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology, with 3 years case management or clinical experience at North Bay Regional Center.
- Preference will be given to psychologists licensed through the Board of Medical Examiners.
- Minimum experience and qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).
- Minimum educational qualifications may not be waived.
- Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours.
- Ability to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training and support to individuals served, as needed.
- Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings, to participate in dental clinic observations, and to develop new resources.
- If operating own vehicle, must provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
- Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
- This position will be primarily based in the office; however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available.
- Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required.
