The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, therapy, and consultation services within a secure, multidisciplinary setting. This position offers an opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in a challenging yet rewarding environment, contributing to the well-being and safety of detainees while supporting the facility’s mental health programs.Required Skills:

• Doctoral Degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Louisiana
• Minimum of one year of clinical practice at the independent level as a licensed psychologist
• Proficiency in psychological assessment, testing, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations regarding patient confidentiality
• Experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience implementing or managing mental health treatment programs, especially within correctional or detention settings
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
• Experience providing telehealth or tele-behavioral health services
• Familiarity with Modified Therapeutic Community models or similar treatment approaches

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
• At least one year of clinical experience in a detention, correctional, or residential healthcare environment
• Experience with mental health and substance use disorder treatment in high-security settings

Other Requirements:

• Valid BLS for Healthcare Providers® certification through the American Heart Association® or Red Cross
• Ability to respond to medical emergencies within four minutes
• Willingness to work day shifts, including weekends and holidays, with rotational on-call duties
• Ability to pass all required security and background checks, including initial and ongoing fitness determinations by DHS

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $80.00, with benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a robust referral bonus program, and paid sick leave in accordance with applicable laws.
