The Housekeeping Team at The Cliffs Hotel & Spa is continuously growing and expanding! We are seeking a efficient, optimistic, and motivated full-time Public Attendant who can create a sense of luxury while ensuring cleanliness throughout the hotel. We look forward to connecting with you!
Position Summary:
The Public Attendant ensures hotel cleanliness and comfort standards are met in the public spaces of the hotel, restaurant, spa, and outdoor areas. This position will complete daily assignments in a timely manner and deliver guest services while upholding The Cliffs' Mission, Values, and Forbes Standards.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Cleans all areas of their designated public space as assigned on daily checklist, including but not limited to: cleaning glass doors, emptying wastebaskets, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, wiping smudges from surfaces, picking up trash & debris from floors, etc.
- Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of public restrooms, including replacing paper goods and refilling soap
- Stocks and maintains cleaning supply cart
- Communicates graciously and professionally with guests, addressing the guest by name when greeting them, offering assistance when appropriate
- Responds to guest requests in a timely manner, using a tray to deliver items and with anticipatory service when appropriate (a "plus one")
- Uses all cleaning chemicals in accordance with guidance on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and with the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Reports any items needing repair or replacement to their Room Inspector, Engineering, or manager on duty (MOD)
- Turns in lost and found items into management, per company policy
- Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to their manager
- Partners with Front Desk and Engineering team to ensure the needs of the guests and the hotel are met efficiently
- Communicates graciously and professionally with guests, management, and coworkers
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
- Complies fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, and safety measures
- Takes precautions to prevent injury, following all safety trainings and company protocols
- Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
- Assists in other areas of the department as needed.
- Completes all other duties as assigned by manager
Additional Job Duties:

- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Education, Experience, Skills:
- High school diploma
- Working knowledge of guest services in a luxury hotel setting.
- Excellent command of English language.
- Ability to work with people effectively.
- Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires grasping, twisting, writing, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity
- Ability to stand continuously for the duration of the shift (eight or more hours).
- Be able to stretch, bend, bend and lift frequently up to 40 pounds in weight.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously during shift (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to work in stressful situations.
