Public Construction Superintendent (DOB) - Queens, NYwill be responsible for the oversight and completion of ground up, core and shell Commercial and Industrial Construction projects throughout New York, New York.

Our client is currently a leading Construction General Contractor in the New York City Building and Construction industry. They have been an established for for 30+ years focusing commercial new builds. The client has a fast paced work environment with a very strong work cultural allowing for flexibility and competitive pay. The first Project will be a Ground up, core and shell Industrial Building in Queens, NY

Description

Public Construction Superintendent (DOB) - Queens, NY

• Implement and maintain effective management, planning, and cost control systems in cooperation with the project team
• Assist with pre-construction activities relevant to assigned Commercial or retail construction project
• Will report directly to Senior Construction Manager and assist with all duties
• Establish and maintain communications between Client and Subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely flow of information
• Prepare or assist pre-construction manager with the project budget
• Work with estimating department to prepare buy-out plan
• Coordinate with Sub contractors
• Review and approve Commercial construction operation plans, change order request and pay apps.
• Provide monthly forecasting for all projects, including internal general conditions costs
• Review contingency plans for potential problems concerning labor activity, fire, storms, etc.
• Track and report on all project costs
• Identify and evaluate risk that may have an impact on the project
• Remain knowledgeable of subcontract agreements, purchase order terms and conditions, and sub consultant agreements
• Develop and issue monthly status reports to keep management informed on construction progress, direct and indirect construction costs, and other project activities

• 10+ years of working on new public and city construction projects in NYC Building and Construction industry
• Extensive experience with Core and Shell new build in the New York City Market
• Experience handling projects
• Local to New York, NY
• Must have experience building in New York City
• Construction Management or equivalent degree
