- Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing ground‑up public construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout, ensuring adherence to agency specifications and contract documents.
- Coordinate with all project stakeholders-including public agencies, inspectors, subcontractors, utility providers, and vendors-to ensure milestones and compliance requirements are met.
- Monitor field progress, track work against approved schedules, and provide detailed updates and reports to senior project management.
- Ensure strict compliance with NYC and state safety regulations, quality standards, and all applicable codes on active job sites.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, budgets, schedules, change orders, and daily reports.
- Support the procurement process by securing materials, reviewing vendor proposals, and assisting with subcontractor buy‑out in accordance with public bid requirements.
- Identify and troubleshoot project‑related challenges to maintain schedule integrity and budget control.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with field teams, agency representatives, subcontractors, and other project partners to support successful project delivery.

Profile
A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:
- A solid understanding of public‑sector construction processes, including ground‑up project sequencing, contract requirements, and compliance with agency standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage documentation, field coordination, and multiple concurrent activities across active job sites.
- Proficiency with construction and project management software, such as Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and other tools commonly required on public works projects.
- Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate effectively with public agencies, inspectors, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal project teams.
- A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset, capable of identifying challenges early and resolving issues efficiently to keep public projects on schedule and within budget.
