Public Information Representative I

20 hours per week | OnsiteThis Public Information Representative (PIR I) temporary position is key support staff for the Office of Civic Engagement's Education Outreach Program. This position is to backfill for Christie Heng, PIR I (Temp), who has taken on a full-time role in another organization.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Present programming such as lessons, tours, and assemblies in classroom, outdoor, and virtual settings.

• Prepare, organize, and maintain teaching materials.

• Provide administrative and operational assistance when needed within the Office of Civic Engagement.

• Support the creation of educational curriculum and newsletters.

• Strong written and verbal skills, with directly relatable experience in conveying direction/ instructions to various audiences.

• Strong presentation abilities, including skills related to engaging diverse youth audiences.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education, public relations, communications, or a related field.

• One (1) year of experience in education, outreach activities, community relations, or public relations.

• Experience working with youth in grades K-12 highly desired, including collaboration with school staff such as teachers, office staff, and administrators. REQURIES NEGATIVE TB TEST & LIVE SCAN.
