Public Safety Dispatcher (911 Emergency Communications)
Location: Fort Greely, AlaskaEligibility:Open to all U.S. CitizensSalary:$46,060 - $74,173 per year (Plus an authorized 3.00% Cost of Living Allowance)
The Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Public Safety Dispatcher to serve as the vital lifeline between the public and emergency responders at Fort Greely. In this high-stakes, rewarding role, you will answer 911 calls and dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel to keep our community safe.

Key Responsibilities:
- Answer 911 Calls: Assess emergencies, interrogate callers to determine the nature of the crisis, and provide pre-arrival medical or safety instructions.
- Dispatch Responders: Coordinate and deploy police, fire, ambulance, rescue, or HAZMAT units based on local protocols.
- Operate Tech Systems: Use Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD), multi-line telephones, radios, and station alert systems.
- Command Support: Provide initial incident command support and maintain an accurate status of all active emergency personnel and equipment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience or Education: Roles are available at the GS-05, GS-06, and GS-07 levels. You can qualify through specialized dispatch/communications experience, a college degree (for GS-05), or a combination of both.
- Resilience: Ability to work in a highly stressful, restricted office environment.
- Availability: Must be able to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. This is a mission-essential role; you must report to work regardless of weather conditions or base closures.
Certifications Needed (Can be obtained within 1 year of hire):
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD).
- DoD Telecommunicator I and II & DoD HAZMAT Awareness.
- Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) Full User certification.
