Public Works I - Compost Site Attendant

Summary

Compost site attendants will operate out of the Compost Site shed and are responsible for point-of-sale-transactions with users of the Compost Site. A positive attitude and strong customer service skills are needed to perform this job.

Essential functions• 1. Check vehicle type and quantity/type of material to ensure it is acceptable for disposal at the Compost Site.• 2. Determine the fees to be charged in accordance with a posted fee schedule. This will be a "no cash" operation – credit/debit cards only.• 3. Process cashless payments using an automated credit card/debit card payment system after determining the applicable fee based on the posted fee schedule.

Physical Requirements• 1. Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).• 2. Ability to stand and walk frequently up to 50% of the time.• 3. Bending, pushing and pulling occasionally (less than 50% of the time).• 4. Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.• 5. Ability to talk, hear and see.
