Our client, a well-established organization in the Power & Energy sector, is seeking an experienced Purchaser to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, components, and services supporting power generation and energy operations. This position will work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, project management, and vendors to ensure critical materials and services are sourced competitively and delivered on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have purchasing or procurement experience within power generation, utilities, energy, industrial manufacturing, or other highly technical environments and understand the importance of quality, reliability, specifications, and lead times when procuring critical equipment and materials.

Job Details:We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Permanent Purchaser for our Oil and Gas sector in the Manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective and smooth operations within our procurement department. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, a high degree of commercial acumen, and a deep knowledge of invoicing and logistics in the Power and Energy Sector. The Permanent Purchaser will be responsible for managing the purchasing of goods, materials, and services to ensure the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies within the oil and gas sector.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking for the procurement process.
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks in procurement process.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to determine the needs and requirements for goods, materials, and services.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Handle and resolve any issues or problems that arise with purchased goods or services.
- Maintain and update records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Power and Energy Sector, with a focus on invoicing and logistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to make decisions and stay calm under pressure.
