Job Summary

Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for an Python/SQL Data Engineer to add to their growing team. Looking to bring in someone with strong people-data domain understanding and hands-on experience across modern data platforms. The ideal skill set includes data engineering and Lakehouse pipelines (Fabric or similar), Python and SQL based data modeling, semantic/metrics modeling, and working with AI-enabled data agents. Experience translating data into insights through visualization tools—ideally Power BI—is also preferred. The projects primarily fall within HR data products and infrastructure. The work is primarily oriented around capabilities that are largely built and extended in-house. 

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder or Visa holder 
• Minimum 5 years Experience with Lakehouse Pipelines with Fabric or similar technologies. 
• Minimum 5 years Experience with Data modeling, including semantic/metric modeling 
• Ability to work Eastern Standard time 
• Extensive experience with Data Engineering
• Experience with Python and SQL 
• Hands on experience with Power BI
• Experience working cross functionally in an enterprise level environment. 

• Design, build, and maintain Python- and SQL-based data pipelines within a modern Lakehouse architecture (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms) to support scalable analytics and reporting use cases.
• Develop and optimize data models (fact/dimension, semantic, and metrics layers) that enable consistent, trusted analytics across HR and people-data domains.
• Engineer and manage HR data products and infrastructure, integrating data from multiple internal systems while ensuring data quality, governance, and performance
• Implement semantic and metrics modeling to standardize business definitions and KPIs, enabling self-service analytics and reducing downstream reporting complexity
• Leverage AI-enabled data agents and automation to enhance data discovery, anomaly detection, and insight generation within analytics workflows.
• Create and support Power BI datasets, semantic models, and visualizations that sit on top of engineered data models, enabling intuitive consumption by business users.
• Ensure data reliability and performance through testing, monitoring, documentation, and continuous optimization of Python and SQL workloads.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, platform engineers, and analytics teams to support end-to-end data lifecycle management, from ingestion through insight delivery.
• Apply best practices in data engineering, version control, and documentation, ensuring maintainable and extensible solutions across the data ecosystem
