QA Engineer Automated 3

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY!Contract Duration: July 6, 2026 – August 31, 2026Schedule: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Monday & Tuesday)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated 3 to support database application testing efforts for a Texas state agency. This role is responsible for designing and executing automated and manual testing strategies, ensuring database integrity, identifying defects, and collaborating with development and database administration teams to deliver high-quality solutions.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience creating automated database testing scripts, developing test plans and test cases, executing functional and regression testing, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.Responsibilities• Design and execute test plans and test cases for database applications• Develop and maintain automated database testing scripts• Perform functional, performance, and regression testing• Identify, document, track, and report defects and issues• Collaborate with developers and database administrators to resolve issues• Validate data integrity and consistency across multiple database systems• Monitor database performance and recommend improvements• Interpret business and technical requirements and update test documentation accordingly• Participate in test planning, execution, and reporting activities• Work directly with stakeholders to gather testing requirements and objectives• Support testing activities throughout the software development lifecycleRequired Qualifications• 8+ years of experience designing automated database testing scripts and frameworks• 8+ years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating test execution plans• 8+ years of experience creating test plans, test cases, and test environments• 8+ years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing• 8+ years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies• Experience interpreting requirements and maintaining testing documentation• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders• Experience managing multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications• 2+ years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework (PDF) and related documentation templates• Familiarity with enterprise information architecture and information management methodologies• Familiarity with large-scale software architecture and infrastructure environmentsWhat We' re Looking ForWe' re looking for a senior-level QA professional who can work independently, develop and maintain automated database testing solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
