Burton Center is looking for a full-time Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) to add to our dynamic team! As the QIDP, you will be fulfilling Burton Center's mission in discovering and developing unlimited potential in adults with special needs and disabilities by creating person centered support plans for individuals and empowering those around you! Your role is pivotal in training Direct Support Professional staff how to coach and support individuals to become as independent as possible and have the best quality of life! By contributing teamwork, positivity, and motivation, you will assist in enabling Burton Center to continue making a tangible impact for individuals we support!

Burton Center is a private, non-profit disability and special needs board. Our organization was created in 1971 to provide essential services to individuals with disabilities and special needs and to offer much needed assistance to their families. Over the last five decades, we have been able to expand our range of services. With locations in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick, Ware Shoals, and Saluda counties, Burton Center's staff of 325, assists over 500 people. Our services are provided free of charge to those who meet specific eligibility criteria by the South Carolina Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We offer Day Programs, Residential Services, and Employment Placement Programs.

About the Position
This is a full-time position (40 hours minimum per week) that requires on-call availability. As a QIDP, you will manage the operations of two Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) in West Columbia and Lexington, SC. This includes the development, supervision, and implementation of each individual's Active Treatment Plan (ATP). This will ensure that each individual receives intensive and effective training needed to reach their fullest potential. You will be responsible for ensuring each Intermediate Care Facility and staff members follow the guidelines and procedures established by the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDP) and Burton Center to ensure the needs, health, and safety of individuals are met on a daily basis!
You will effectively manage each Intermediate Care Facility by maintaining safety protocols and inspections, completing budget and inventory reports, and reviewing individual and staff progress. Using exemplary leadership skills, professionalism, and clear communication, you will work closely with Direct Support Professionals (DSP), nurses, Residential and Executive Directors, and individuals and their families. With a creative and positive outlook, you will be able to empower the individuals and staff around you to fulfill Burton Center's mission to develop and discover unlimited potential!
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services field
One year experience working with individuals with disabilities and special needs
Certified as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional
Valid SC Driver's License
Ability to advocate for others
Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
Clear communication and excellent management skills

All newly hired Burton Center staff must complete a mandatory in-person orientation, MedTech, and complete all assigned online training prior to on-the-job training. Orientation is held once a month, over the course of three days, from 9am-5pm.
