The CCMS Dream Center is a vibrant, engaging, and supportive day program designed to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We focus on building life skills, fostering community integration, encouraging socialization, and, most importantly, helping our members live out their dreams in a joyful, active setting.

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and structured Qualified Professional (QP) to lead our Dream Center team in Matthews. In this role, you won't just manage compliance—you will shape the daily culture of the program. You will oversee direct care staff, design engaging daily schedules, coordinate person-centered activities, and ensure a safe, high-quality, and uplifting environment for our members every single day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program & Daily Operations Leadership: Direct the day-to-day operations of the Dream Center day program, ensuring a vibrant, safe, and structured environment for all members.

  • Team Supervision & Culture: Manage, schedule, and mentor direct care staff (Life Skills Coaches/Instructors). Conduct monthly supervision meetings and provide continuous on-site training regarding specific member goals and Individualized Support Plans (ISPs).

  • Activity & Care Planning: Conduct person-centered assessments and develop measurable, functional goals that integrate seamlessly into the day program’s curriculum and activities.

  • Relationship & Community Engagement: Build positive, collaborative relationships with families, guardians, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and community partners to enhance integration opportunities.

  • Compliance & Administration: Oversee daily documentation, track program data, ensure billing accuracy, manage timely authorizations, and keep the center fully prepared for state audits and quality reviews.

  • Crisis & Safety Management: Implement performance improvement measures, maintain high program standards, and participate in scheduled on-call crisis rotation support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Professional Status: Must meet the North Carolina definition of a QP (see criteria below).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management experience (experience in a day program or group setting is a major plus).

    • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with individuals with I/DD.

  • Industry Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of behavioral sciences and allied disciplines related to I/DD.

  • Core Skills: Exceptional leadership, high adaptability, strong organizational skills, and a passion for creating fun, structured group environments.

  • On-Site & Physical Requirements:

    • Reliable personal transportation and cell phone.

    • Ability to actively engage with members on-site and lift up to 50 pounds.

North Carolina QP Criteria (Must meet one of the following):

  1. A license, provisional license, certificate, registration, or permit from a human service profession governing board.

  2. A Graduate degree in a human service field + 1 year of post-graduate I/DD experience.

  3. A Bachelor’s degree in a human service field + 2 years of post-graduate I/DD experience.

  4. A Bachelor’s degree in a non-human service field + 4 years of post-graduate I/DD experience.
