Job Description
Payrate: $25.00 - $28.70/hr.Summary: The Inspector is responsible for inspecting machined components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role performs dimensional inspections, testing, documentation, and quality verification activities in a manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and operational standards.Responsibilities:
- Inspect machined parts and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
- Interpret and follow written inspection instructions, customer specifications, and quality standards.
- Measure dimensions, including length, height, distances, angles, arcs, and radii using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, X-Y-Z measuring equipment, and X-ray equipment.
- Locate reference points on parts and perform dimensional inspections using surface plates, angle plates, parallel bars, gauge blocks, V-blocks, and other precision measurement tools.
- Complete required inspection reports, records, and documentation accurately.
- Perform first article, in-process, incoming, and final inspections.
- Conduct airflow testing and product verification activities.
- Support quality operations by performing other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work occasional weekend shifts.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
- Must be legally authorized to access technical data subject to U.S. Government export control regulations. Proof of eligibility may be required prior to employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and understand written work instructions and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection activities.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using computerized shop floor tools and systems.
- Ability to operate precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
- Flexibility to support different work areas as business needs require.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
