Role Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer (QA/Testing) will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of Clarapath’s SectionStar and TrimStar Pro, our advanced electro-mechanical devices. This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on experience in testing and validating complex systems. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams, this individual will develop and execute test plans, identify defects, and support root cause analysis to drive continuous product improvement. The role involves both manual and automated testing, documentation of results, and collaboration across teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and is eager to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality product performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures for hardware, software, and system-level functionality
- Perform manual and automated testing of electromechanical systems and embedded software
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using issue tracking systems
- Conduct root cause analysis in collaboration with engineering teams
- Support verification and validation (V&V) activities for new product development and product enhancements
- Work closely with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews to provide quality input and risk assessment feedback
- Maintain test documentation in compliance with internal quality systems and applicable regulatory standards
- Support regression testing for firmware and software releases
- Help improve test processes, tools, and automation frameworks over time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 2-5+ years of experience in QA, testing, or validation engineering
- Experience testing hardware, embedded systems, or electro-mechanical devices preferred
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and defect tracking tools (ex: Jira, etc.)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience in medical devices, regulated environments, or life sciences (ISO 13485, FDA QMS), a plus
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks or scripting (Python or similar), a plus
- Experience with system-level integration testing, a plus
- Understanding of electromechanical systems or robotics, a plus
